Hundreds of heirloom tomatoes were harvested
last summer from Jack’s gardens. Guests brought additional varieties to
his fall Tomato Tasting Party. Flavors and textures were examined and this
spring’s seeds were harvested. Select varieties are in their 3rd season
of adapting themselves to the northern Michigan area.
Collected seeds include:
Red Brandywine, Pink, 4th of July, Red
C-4038, Big Rainbow, San Marquis, Tasty, Purple Chicory, Poland, Arkansas
Traveler, MG 2002 Select #1, MG 2002 Select #2, Black Krim, Orange Marmalade,
Mickey Grape and Mickey Cherry. List may change seasonally, of course.
